Logitech G203 Lightsync Driver - Loigitech is used to offering us very good quality products. We had seen it with the Logitech G915 as well as with the G Pro X, two high-end products. Today, it is an entry-level product that we have in our hands. The manufacturer's brand new mouse, the Logitech G203 Lightsync , was released a few days ago. This is the opportunity to offer you the test of this entry-level mouse which offers great performance for a very interesting price.

The G203 Lightsync replaces the G203 Prodigy. It offers some interesting new features such as a better sensor or the possibility to adjust the backlight colors a bit as you wish and create truly personalized effects.

DESIGN
In a packaging that arrives quite neat but relatively simple, we find the mouse. Wrapped in a small protective plastic paper with a Logitech G logo to make it pretty, it's really simple. Precisely that is good because what interests us is what is in this relatively ordinary little box: the mouse.

It is clear that in appearance, there is not much that changes between this Lightsync series and the previous Prodigy. Indeed, the changes remain minor but are there. Aesthetically, it remains quite simple and elegant, while offering to adapt to both right-handed and left-handed people.

Be careful, however, it is still designed for right-handed people, with its two buttons on the left and none on the right. This is not an ambidextrous mouse like the Thermaltake Level 20for example. There are a total of 6 buttons, including left click, right click and scroll wheel, all programmable.

The backlight is always present on the edge of the edges of the mouse, just after the two main clicks as well as at the level of the palm of the hand, the "G" logo is backlit. The mouse arrives with a cable with a length of 2m10 , it is a little bigger than Teddy Rinner for information, but a little less solid… Indeed, the cable of this mouse is relatively thin and really very flexible and not braided.

GETTING STARTED
The important thing when you use a mouse is of course what comes with it, but also and above all, its comfort once in hand. For that, there are more or less large mice. Obviously, people with rather large hands have to pay a little more if they want a large enough mouse. However, the Logitech G203 Lightsync is not one of these. It is suitable for medium sized hands or small hands. It still has an advantage for large hands, it allows you to limit the movements of your wrist.

It is very pleasant to use and the buttons have the advantage of being accessible. However, the most recessed button, configured by default on “previous page” is perhaps a little too recessed. So it is imperative to take the thumb a little backwards in order to click clearly on it. It's a little awkward and moving it a bit further to the front of the mouse if possible would have been nice.

There is also a small button just behind the dial, allowing you to easily change the sensitivity of the sensor. Up to 4 resolution speeds can be recorded . We have chosen a speed around 3500 DPI, making it easier to navigate when using an office. In play, some will prefer a higher sensitivity of the order of 6000 DPI or even go up to 8000 DPI .

CONFIGURATION WITH G HUB

What makes all the charm of this mouse in addition to its use is its Logitech G Hub software . The Logitech G203 Lightsync can be completely configured on the latter. First of all, we find the backlight adjustment of the mouse. Here are saved the presets determined by the manufacturer which are:

  • Fixed
  • Cycle
  • Pulsation
  • Color wave
  • Mix of colors
  • Screen sampler
  • Audio visualizer

By default, the activated effect is "Color wave". It is a relatively simple and classic effect but which always makes its effect with pretty gradients. We find the possibility of changing the speed of the effects.

There is also a freestyle mode that allows you to create your own personalized backlights on the three zones of the Logitech G203 Lightsync. Finally, you can choose predefined animations in the software or create them yourself.

Then comes the second panel, that of assignments. You can change the assignments of each button if you want. The two buttons on the left can for example be used to copy and paste, it is quite practical depending on your use. You can obviously create macros to take the configuration of your G203 Lightsync even further .

Finally, the last menu is that of mouse sensitivity. By default, we have 4 recorded sensitivities namely:

  • 400 PPP
  • 800 PPP
  • 1600 PPP
  • 3200 PPP

As you will have noticed, the sensitivity of the mouse is doubled each time. This is used to make the cursor go faster or slower. When you press the button behind the dial in passing, you change this sensitivity. then, if you are under Windows 10, a notification indicates the chosen sensitivity, which is very practical. There is also the possibility of changing the rate of reports per second of the mouse. We left it at 1000 Hz in order to have the maximum precision but it is possible once again to divide it by two each time.

Finally, the G203 Lightsync saves pre-configurations for certain games, this is the case with CS: GO or even Project Cars 2 for me, in order to best adapt to them and thus offer you the best experience. possible.

LOGITECH G203 LIGHTSYNC REVIEW: REVIEWS
The Logitech G203 Lightsync is a good entry-level gaming mouse . Its small size reflects its low price and even if the evolutions are relatively minor compared to the G203 Prodigy, it is not here to make a revolution either. Small changes such as more advanced backlighting to make it prettier on the desk or simply the sensor allowing to go higher in sensitivity make it totally relevant. The only small problem will be if you have large hands, it may not be totally suitable for you, despite excellent sliding comfort and a very reasonable weight.

This Logitech G203 Lightsync is a good entry-level gaming mouse for a very affordable take. It is suitable for small and medium hands. Its ease of use is very good and its high-performance sensor can go up to 8000 DPI, ideal for gamers!
